balls meet foot and other first friday stuff

i'm moving into a new apartment. not at this exact second, clearly, as i'm writing in this thing. actually its not even an apartment, its a house, which is pretty special and grown up of me. its big and beautiful just like i love my women (black).
i think most of all, i love that half of the light fixtures in the house resemble single boobs, which will be amazing when i only have to use one half of my Carmen Electra poster on the ceiling (the other half can hang in the bathroom).*
next week i'll post a picture of said light fixture, you'll agree, i know you will.

on to more pressing matters...

TOMORROW NIGHT!
the compound does not have a show, its still break time for us which means you have all the time in the world to go to all the other amazing shows that are happening in this wonderful city.

one of which i have drawings in, so i'll talk about it for shameless self promotion...

AHNVHS debut exhibition
Rack and File: selected works from the flat file
May 1st - May 30th, 2009
Opening: Friday May 1st, 7-10pm

featuring works on paper by numerous artists including Mark Price, Caitlin Emma Perkins, Matt Leines, Alex Lukas, Josh Shaffner, Julianne Ahn, Lauren van Haaften-Schick, Jason Andrew Turner, and others.
i havent actually been up the the
AHNVHS space yet, but i got the lowdown last weekend and it sounds pretty rad. predominately focusing on works on paper, along with gallery shows, they have a flat file on hand for parishioners to pull out, and thumb thru a collection of affordable works on paper by many artists in varying media. good stuff. check it out.

down the street at Space 1026 is
The Moth, the Flame, the Returning Comet, & the Golem
a show by Derek Weisberg and Matt Rebholz
Opening this Friday, May 1, 7-10pm,1026 Arch St.

Derek Weisbergs sculptures are intense man, i first saw him pop up while i was surfing the information super highway a few years ago back. Matt Rebholz makes dark little fuckers that will suck you in and spit you out. good stuff

and if you want to travel a bit south check out the brilliant show at the Pageant Gallery, by Matthew Osborne "My Bones – Your Skin."
i went by last weekend and was blown away. tons of stuff that'll inspire the hell out of you. that gallery consistently gets me excited and energized. keep it up.

good travels, everyone enjoy yourselves, stay safe, and dont do drugs
