Well done Freddy...

The show Friday night went great. Miriam and Ryan did a great job putting the show together . Thanks to everyone who participated in the show, the work looked great. And thanks to everyone who came out and showed their support.

Here's a quick summary....

CHIEF RESTED UP BEFORE THE SHOW

A Lot of people showed up....

Toshi kept demanding service...

but somehow Justin again was the one who stuck out like a true weirdo in a crowd...

All in all it was a fun night. Once we get pictures of all the work will post them for you to see. Thanks again to everyone.

The Nightmare on Wood St. show was our last in house art show of 2008.
We will return in 2009 with more shows . We are currently working out the list of shows to come.
What's is to come? I'm not sure, I guess that's the fun of it. But I'm excited cause it took only three shows for us to pay homage to an alleged child molester that was burnt by vigilante justice.
So I'd expect anything.
In the meantime , keep checking out our blog as we will keep you posted on all of our adventures and unwanted biting social commentary.

Tonight is the opening for the compounds group art show "Nightmare on Wood St."

Compound members Miriam Singer and Ryan Beck are truly obsessed with the 80s horror movie Nightmare on Elm St. so much so that when it came around to them to curate our next project they jumped at the chance to utilize their shared love. They approached artists and explained its theme, loosely set in the vein of the 8 part franchise. What came out was over 40 artists contributing to the show, with everything from sculpture to drawing, painting to found objects, and everything in between.

I saw the work last night and it’s really amazing. Hilarious things and horrifying things. In short, exactly like the movies. I’m highly impressed by the talent that keeps coming to our space, it’s exciting to see how many amazingly gifted people we have in this city.

Here is a list of some of the people involved:
Nicole Dul, Brielle Duym, Mike Stein, Gerik Forston, Amanda Miller, Claire Folkman, Mike Frank, Tuesday Kay, Kyle Schmidt, John Stephenson, Gabrielle Miles Silverlight, Brieann Robyn, Don Vincent Ortega, Bill Mcright, Phoebe Zinman, Shira Walinsky, Adam Carrigan, Ali Williams, Katie VanVliet, Michael Squid, Alex Curtis, Matt Ashby, Josie Newman, Michael Bednar, Jen Petsko, Jason Andrew Turner, Erin Broadhurst, Adam Pietras, Ryan Beck, Lizzy Janssen, Audrey Fox, Miriam Singer, Perry W Fowler, Bill Sands, Angel O, Audrey Fox, Philippa Beardsley, Andrew Johnson-Lally, and many more!

Come out. Take a look at some art. Have some beers. Make some friends!

This is 100% to the artists. we take no cut of profit. We only wish to support and promote artistic talent and provide a venue in which to show. donations are graciously accepted and keep us going. thanks ya'll.

Compound Warehaus Presents:

First Friday – Nov 7th 6-10pm

I'll see ya'lls tonight!
i know the election is over and done with, and we at the compound couldnt be happier.
it's amazing how much pride i have for the people that got out there and shouted at the top of their lungs. some will say nothing can change, and that history always repeats itself. but i say that the american people just changed everything, and thank you for that.

done and doner. THIS is still an amazing read. check it out.

hopefully everyone has already gotten out there and voted today, or they're planning to get out there and vote before the poles close. this is important for us, especially here in PA. i hope everyone is just as excited to jump up and run to the streets for a better change of direction for our country as a whole. if you can do it for a baseball team, i certainly hope you can do that for something more.

and as the dust settles and first friday approaches. dont forget about our opening for "Nightmare on Wood street"!!! well over 30 artists giving you a mix of everything. more on this later. go fucking vote!
