space 1026 holds its preview night for its annual art auction, which provides support for the space and its members to keep hosting shows and continuing to help furter philadelphia as an artists city. there are tons of people participating including myself and miriam. so go and check it out! (or you can wait and bid on things Dec 11th (gifts a-plenty)).

also, speaking of miriam. happy birthday last monday. youre a saint and i'm very happy to know you. everyone should have a little miriam in there life. if you see her around 319 n. 11th tonight bid her a happy hello and best wishes (as you check out copy gallerys show "COPY II" , vox populis pile of exhibits, ahnvhs hosting travis leroy southworth, and tiger strikes asteroids "habatat fracture" ).

compound pumpkins '09

last week we took knifes to fruit* and made faces at each other. By that i mean we carved pumpkins in the grand tradition of the annual hotwax pumpkin carving clusterfuck. it was kind of the same as last year (remember when we wrote about it (twice!)), except this time i won. thats right, i fucking won. good job self. youre terrific!

Congrats to Compound member Erin Broadhurst who set the bar high for us. She took 2nd Place in the female 20-29 year old bracket for the 5k Free to Breathe in Philadelphia.
Not only did she run farther than most of us walk, she did it in the name of raising just under $1000 for a great cause.
