take me to the river mural

Lets give a rousing round of applause for the completion of Miriam Singers first mural of her "take me to the river" projects with the Philadelphia Mural Arts Program and New Kensington CDC.

Shes been working on it for months and its been really amazing to see her process from sketching, teaching wheatpasting workshops in the community, to painting in the studio, to finally seeing her wall build to completion. The finished product is a fresh and different approach to murals in the city, and we at the compound are excited and proud.

This is the first of many located in the Fishtown section of Girard. so go check it out in person.
